EMG Tip of the Week – Assessment Matters

Ever competed in a competition and to find you get to the end and find that the scores don’t matter? Unfortunately we live in a very competitive world where this rarely happens. Actually most of us like to win and like to know how we’ve progressed, especially if you’re a driven individual. So how does this work with students? Well it is important that we are able to give feedback to students that helps them reach their goals – ultimately becoming successful members functioning in society! Having checkpoints along the journey will make sure we stay on track and on a path to positive direction. Assessment matters – especially how we communicate that and the expectations we have around our students as a result.
