Quote of the Week 2019/20 – Flipping that ‘problem child’ idea on it’s head

Quote Social Media Graphic - 27. Barbara Colorose

Perspective is always really important. Looking at the importance of our job and treating it with the respect that it should have is vital for students to be impacted in positive ways. If we don’t realise this we can miss out on the potential that we have to transform lives through our words and our actions. Every child deserves this, regardless of their background, their past, their abilities and their family circumstances. They may only hear that one person believes in them – how powerful that would be if that was you as a teacher. You see we are all born with the possibility of potential and we have the ability to influence people in a positive way – it’s simply a choice. Now this does mean you make things always easy for your students. What is actually the most important is that you communicate belief and potential. Like a good coach you have a goal in mind and you lead the way with this. You can make a difference – even if you think it may be small, it has the potential to change and transform lives.
