EMG Quote of the Week – For you and your students!

4

The mindset of failure can be changed with perspective. Looking at it as opportunities to learn (or to even learn what didn’t work) is far more empowering. If we look at the event or situation as just fail, it’s an all in or nothing mentality. It also keeps people stuck in that same place – defeat. The real questions are though:

  1. What did you learn?
  2. What did you conquer or do right?
  3. What would you do differently if you had your chance again?

The fact is we are all susceptible to this. We all will fail at some stage – it’s how we process this and move forward that is more important than anything else. If we remain stuck in the same place, we tend to make the same mistakes over and over again. If we learn something from it, about what we did and about ourselves, we are far more empowered as a result. Knowing it’s not always the end of the world and putting into perspective is good for the soul.
